Pivot to Rollbacks

Leaders are obligated to respectfully challenge decisions when they disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. Leaders have conviction and are tenacious. They do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. Once a decision is determined, they commit wholly.

  • There are no automatic rollbacks. That is painful.

  • Fix the pain point.

Action:​

  • Rotate after discussion, specs, user research.
  • BE - api's, elig, opts, deploy system upgrades, and passthroughs for other thingns

  • rollout, testing, reducing blast radius, dogfooding

Result:​

  • Committed fully after deciding to pivot.

Reflection:​

  • Sometimes pivoting is necessary. Its important to be flexible.
